HISTORY: Moonlight College is an offshoot of moonlight Nursery and Primary school. It is the strong desire to give a light standard and quality education to children in the environment and the nation at large that prompted MR. & MRS. ADDISON, the proprietors, into establishing the school.
             The school officially commenced academic work on Monday, 22nd of September 1997. The official opening ceremony was witnessed by the proprietors MR. & MRS. ADDISON.
THE SCHOOL WAS OFFICIALLY APPROVED BY THE Lagos State Ministry of Education on the 17th of April, 2002.

SCHOOL MOTTO: the school motto is “AMBASSADOR OF LIGHT”.

SCHOOLS AIMS AND OBJECTIVES.

  1. To complement the Lagos state and Federal Government’s current effort on educational development.
  2. To inculcate in our society a model of qualitative education.
  3. To inculcate in our students the spirit of self discipline, morals, religions and social values that will make them more useful to themselves and to the society in future.
  4. To inculcate in our students mental, physical, spiritual and social developments, which are attributes, when put together make one a complete human being.
  5. To create the opportunity for students to develop and guide on his/her potentials as given to them by God.

SCHOOL PROGRAMME

The school runs only day services opening at 7:45am and closing 3:00pm. The school is co-educational and uses the Lagos State school calendar, the West African Examination Council (WAEC) syllabus and other related syllabus. Therefore students are eligible to sit for the following examination:
  1. The Junior School Certificate Examination  (JSCE)
  2. The West African Senior School Certificate Examination WASSCE (May/June)
  3. The West African Senior School Certificate Examination WASSCE (Nov/Dec)
  4. The General Certificate of Education (GCE) London

MODE OF ADMISION
  1. Students would be admitted into the college through an entrance examination after completing Basic six (6). They are expected to purchase and complete an admission form before they are allowed to sit for the entrance examination.
  2. Forms are obtainable in the school for JSS1 to SS2
  3. Students must be decently and suitably dressed at all times (ie during and after school hours) the dressing must conform to the standard set by the school.
  4. Shouting, rowdy behaviors and noise making are not allowed in the college premises.
  5. Student are not allowed to come to school with personal valuables such as stereos, videogames, CD players/walkmans, radio etc
  6. Students must individually and collectively accept responsibility to maintain the high academic standard of MOONLIGHT COLLEGE. This requires honesty and integrity in the performance of all academic assignments both in and out of the class.
  7. The college discourages any student from bringing to school large sum of money.
  8. Student with luxury items such as chains, necklaces, perfumes, GSM handsets, etc.

SCHOOL BUILDINGS
The structure of the school is made up of a prototype building built purposely for the school.
The main building is a four storey building of twenty two (22) classrooms and a large hall for examination and another block of two storey building of twelve (12) classrooms.
            The classrooms are spacious and well ventilated. There  is adequate playing ground for student during break which can be used for basket ball, table tennis and volley ball.

History
Moonlight Nursery and Primary school commenced operation in September 1984. The school was founded by Mrs. K.O Addison out of the passion she has for children and the desire to give them qualitative education.
The school was officially approved by the Lagos state ministry of Education to operate as a private school on the 4th of May 1995.

Aims & Objectives
To provide training for children of all Nationalities between the ages of two and five years for nursery, and six to eleven years for primary.
The school also aims at giving a basic and sound educational background and a full primary course, thereby preparing children morally, physically, intellectually and socially to enter good secondary schools in the country.

The school runs day sessions only, commencing by 7:45am and closes by 1:30pm, Mondays to Fridays.
The school is co-educational and uses the Lagos state school calendar and other related syllabuses. Therefore, students are eligible to sit for the following examinations:
  • The first school leaving certificate examination,
  • National common entrance, conducted by National examinations council (N.E.C.O) into Unity schools,
  • Entrance examination into other private schools and state model colleges.

Academic Staff Strength
The school can boast of qualified teachers with a comfortable teacher – student ratio of 1:20.
The Nursery staff strength is twelve (12) and the Primary staff strength is eighteen (18).
